December 17th celebrates the famous Wright Brothers, whom helped change the course of history and are a brief part of Richmond's past!

Orville and Wilbur Wright lived in Richmond from 1881-84. While in Richmond, the Wright family lived in three homes: 211 North 14th Street, 309 N 12th Street, and 38 S 13th Street.

It would be 19 years after their departure from Richmond that the brothers flew the first powered and controlled airplane on December 17, 1903.
